How to Get Back On Track After a Vacation
Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone, and it’s time to get back on track! Here are our tips for revamping your wellness post-vacation.
- Drink lots and lots of water: After a vacation (especially if you’ve been drinking alcohol… it’s all about joie de vivre), it’s essential to replenish your body’s fluids. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined women should take in an average of 11.5 cups of total water a day from all beverages and foods. Those who are very active may need to consume even more water.
- Plan your workouts ahead of time: There’s something motivating about sitting down with your calendar and scheduling your workouts in advance. This is also a great way to make sure you recreate the habit of working out consistently. After you’ve outlined your perfect class schedule, actually sign up for the classes (if you work out at home, set reminders in your phone calendar)! This way, you’ll be less likely to decide not to go last-minute.
- Eat real food: Everyone needs to treat themselves every once in a while, but it’s easy to carry less-than-healthy eating habits over post-vacation. We always encourage eating real, whole foods and avoiding sugar, but it’s especially important after a weekend of not disciplining yourself the way you usually do.
