Get Your Best Sleep With These Simple Steps

I turn off my phone as soon as I get to my bedroom. I take time to relax with a hot shower or bath, and enjoy lots of luxurious skin products: tazorac (a retinoid) 2-3 times a week and a good night cream. Finally, I either listen to an audiobook or read.

Currently on my nightstand: A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle. His voice is soothing and for me his message is timely and relevant.

Always finish the night with a good book. I’m currently reading Shoe Dog. Also, I take Catie’s Calcium just before bed.

  1. I put my phone on the charger on the other side of the house.
  2. I set my alarm (on a regular, old school alarm clock).
  3. Arrange all my pillows (hello, pregnancy!)
  4. Fall asleep reading a book.

I try to keep paper and pen by my bed. If I have my to do list running through my head it will keep me up, so writing it down helps calm my mind.

I like to write my thoughts down so they don’t swirl in my head all night and keep me from sleeping: to-do list for the next day and one sentence of gratitude.

I try to quit my phone before I get to bed because we know, we know… blue light can zap those zzzs!
